Our sweet little blessing from God arrived on August 16th at 3:43! He weighed 7.3 oz and was 20 3/4 inches. Though labor was almost 20 hours and not quite what I was planning, he arrived safe and healthy as was I, what more could you want?
Now we are almost a week in half in! What a crazy, wonderful and incredible 9 days! Here are something we have already learned which I am sure are just the fringes of all that is to come.
Lesson ONE:
When changing a diaper, make sure his “pee-pee” is facing down before closure.
Lesson TWO:
Things are NOT by the book. I thought since I am a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, I would know the ropes a little more. Yes I know assessment skills for illness and milestones of development, but nothing about breastfeeding and lots of other things. Nothing is by the book, each baby/child is different
Lesson THREE:
Levi has so so many people that love him! We have had almost 2 visitors every day. There has only been one day without anyone to see him. What a blessed and loved little dude!
Lesson FOUR:
Being a parent is so scary and so awesome! Sometimes the responsibility feels overwhelming as you try and protect this treasure from this crazy world. THEN I remember we have the Lord to lean on and guide us in everything, we are never alone. This gift is the Lord’s child first and we have been called to be his parents! The Lord loves Levi even more than we do, though that seems impossible. The Lord’s love is so vast beyond all measure.
We are thrilled to have this addition in our lives and for the many more lessons to come! What a wonderful journey! Also I must say Justin makes it much easier and better! I can’t imagine a better person to be Levi’s dad and my partner as we parent our little one each day.

Love your blog! What a exciting time for y’all
